Fiending for Links, Featuring LeBron James Stealing Fries
1. LeBron James took a break from his 43-point onslaught of the Thunder Sunday to nab a french fry from a courtside fan. Reminds me of Manny Ramirez high-fiving that fan at the wall in Fenway. Which begs the question, will LBJ ever reach “LeBron being LeBron” status? Weigh in below in the comments section if you get a chance.
2. Byron Scott agreed Monday to rejoin ESPN’s basketball crew as a studio analyst. When Scott inevitably loses interest in the job three years from now, ESPN has promised to replace him with Jesse “The Body” Ventura. Life imitates life.
3. The Cavaliers have agreed to sell a minority stake in the team to Chinese businessman Albert Hung. Which reminds me; if you haven’t found a holiday gift for that special someone in your life, “Hung for the Holidays” by Albert’s brother William makes a terrific stocking stuffer. You can thank me later.
4. Ron Artest invited the public via Twitter to a Christmas party at his house on December 23. BYOHRAS. Bring your own homemade Ron Artest shirt.
5. Brendan Haywood of the Wizards shut down his Yardbarker blog Sunday amidst uproar from the general public about his posts on Michael Vick and Elin Woods. In typical NBA fashion, Haywood closed with a line from “Scarface” - say goodnight to the bad guy. In truth, Haywood isn’t a bad guy at all. Just an athlete who calls it as he sees it. I’m going to miss his blog.

Fiending for Links, Featuring Allen Iverson’s Philly Debut

1. Allen Iverson kicked off his second campaign in Philly with 11 points and six assists as the Nuggets defeated the Sixers 93-83. I wasn’t able to watch the game because, well, it’s Finals week and I’m half-dead, but here’s a great Twitter recap from Rey over at The No-Look Pass and some sweet video highlights courtesy of Ball Don’t Lie. Despite his lackluster debut, I think A.I.’s going to be a positive addition to the Sixers.
2. J.E. Skeets and Tas Melas of The Basketball Jones “show love” to all 30 teams in the NBA with an awesome music video featuring a mullet wig, an ill-fitting stocking cap, and an over-the-top studio montage that rivals only Leroy Smith in the scope of its campiness. My life is now complete.
3. Sports Media Watch got to experience a day in the life of “NBA on TNT.” Lucky dog. I’m definitely adding that to my bucket list. Spend time with Charles, Ernie and Kenny. Goes right below Break up Jessica Alba and Cash Warren and Find a way to get Mitch Richmond into the Hall of Fame. Yeah, I have a weird bucket list.
4. Tim Donaghy cleared the air about his referee gambling scandal for what felt like the 3,000th time on CBS’ “60 Minutes” Sunday. There’s some interesting information here, but it’s mostly just PR for Donaghy’s upcoming book: “How I Made Lots of Money By Being a Scumbag.”
5. Brendan Haywood weighs in on Elin Woods’ $5 million prenup adjustment. Can’t buy me love? Yeah right. Looks like Tiger just did.
By the way, a belated “Happy Birthday” to Larry Bird who turned 53 yesterday. Gotta recognize the legends. (H/T, Len Berman.)
