Grizzlies game evacuated due to water line break
No, water did not come rushing into FedEx Forum Tuesday night like something out of “Poseidon” (shout out to Johnny Drama). There was simply a water line break that caused an alarm to go off near the end of the third quarter of the Grizzlies-Clippers game. The malfunction led to the complete evacuation of the arena for 17 minutes, according to a press release from the Grizzlies.
No fans were harmed in the incident, but they were subjected to a Grizzlies-Clippers game so obviously psychological damage was not one of the things measured by health officials.
As part of its commitment to “a world-class championship experience”, the team is offering fans the opportunity to exchange tickets from Tuesday night’s game for tickets to the Grizzlies-Timberwolves game Friday night.
If you’re shaking your head in amazement over the irony of that statement, just know that I’m right there with you. A world-class championship experience? Are we talking about the same Grizzlies here?
