Fiending for Links, Featuring LeBron James and the Dunk Contest

1. LeBron is second guessing his decision to take on Nate Robinson and Dwight Howard in the the dunk contest this season. Matt Moore of Fanhouse thinks pulling out is exactly the sort of PR nightmare LeBron should be avoiding. Personally, I think he’s just scared of Shannon Brown.
2. Allen Iverson’s eyes filled with tears as he was welcomed back to Philly in a press conference Thursday. The future Hall of Famer makes his Sixers (re-)debut on Monday against the Nuggets.
3. The NBA is reviewing reports that Ron Artest drank Hennessy during games as a Chicago Bull. My take? Who cares? Even if they find out it’s true, what are they going to do? Fine him? Suspend him retroactively? This story is nothing but a publicity stunt for Ron-Ron, and it’s working very, very well.
4. Tom Ziller charts three-point efficiency across the league. Interesting stuff. According to Ziller’s chart, the Magic and Knicks are the most prolific three-point shooting teams, but the Suns and Cavs are the most efficient (i.e. make the highest percentage).
5. Paying homage to Bill Simmons, Tree & Leaf is making “Zombie Sonics” t-shirts. At $23 per pop, they’re a bit out of my price range, but you better believe they’ll make an appearance or two at the Simmons household this Christmas.
