Fiending for Links, Featuring Ron Artest, Shannon Brown and Toni Braxton

1. Imagine a scenario where Lakers teammates Ron Artest and Shannon Brown were involved in a love triangle with a woman. And not just any woman. R&B heavyweight Toni Braxton. Now mix in a scandalous getting caught cheating subplot. Now mix in Trey Songz. Sound made up? It’s not. The scenario is the setting for Braxton’s new music video, “So Yesterday,” and it’s fan-tastic. If the song wasn’t so bad, I’d watch this 10-20 times in a row.

2. The Knicks have officially decided to pass on Allen Iverson. Pity. I would have enjoyed watching him in MSG, jacking up shots while Al Harrington and Larry Hughes fumed in the corner. I guess we’ll all just have to follow his career in Europe now.

3. Dave Berri explains why Josh Smith is so valuable to the Hawks. More on this in tomorrow’s Top 25 Under 25.

4. Charles Oakley gets “real” in a recent interview with Slam writer Nick Rattner. “Real” topics include: George W. Bush’s influence on the demise of the NBA, the well-roundedness of European players, and a reality show that involves cooking, masks and playing poker. I’d try to explain, but it would take way too long. Just read the article.

5. Chris Bosh is looking for a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Does he deserve it?
