Report: Iverson to Knicks Looks Like a Long Shot

Allen Iverson.

Earlier in the week, Knicks General Manager Donnie Walsh alluded to “checking into” the Allen Iverson situation. But Mike D’Antoni hardly sounds excited about the possibility of bringing Iverson to New York.

From the NY Daily News:

“He’s been a force in this league for God knows how long,” D’Antoni said before flying to Indianapolis. “I’m not taking anything away from him. At the same time, there’s a lot of organization stuff to talk about.

“I think it’s what Donnie [Walsh] suggested,” D’Antoni added. “We’ll look into it, see if it makes sense. If it does, the organization will do whatever it can do to make us better. He has unique ability.”

The Knicks had hesitations about signing Iverson this summer, but now they’re 1-9. Messing up team chemistry hardly seems like a concern now.
