Fiending for Links, Featuring Ron Artest’s Shoe Toss

Shoe toss.

1. Rockets forward Trevor Ariza lost his shoe in the first quarter of the Lakers-Rockets game Sunday night. As the shoe lay on the court, Ron Artest picked it up and tossed it off the court. Burn!

2. Later, Ariza received his championship ring from former teammates Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher. After the presentation, Ariza and the Rockets proceeded to beat the Lakers 101-91. The lesson, as always, don’t mess with another man’s shoe.

3. An open letter from Mark Heisler of the Los Angeles Times to Donald Sterling concerning Mike Dunleavy, the $10 million anchor weighing the Clippers down. I was at Staples Center on Friday to watch Clippers-Raptors. The anti-Dunleavy sentiment was overwhelming. And when I say overwhelming, I mean a tidal wave of resentment. As tight-fisted as he is, I expect Sterling to make a change soon.

4. LeBron James has taken a shine to second year forward J.J. Hickson. LBJ is mentoring Hickson both on and off the court. The results have been positive. Hickson scored 20 points against the Jazz on Saturday and stayed on the court during crunch time to seal the Cavaliers’ win.

5. Pictures from Artest’s birthday party if you’re interested. Either Brandi and LL Cool J showed up, or Artest knows some pretty good look-a-likes. Whatever the case, prepare to do a double take.
