1. Stephen Jackson trade rumors are heating up. Looks like Cleveland is the most likely destination, but Golden State will have to include Ronny Turiaf if the deal is going to work. New Orleans and Denver are also in the mix, but not as heavily as Cleveland, according to Marc Stein.
2. Dwight Howard flew his one millionth Twitter follower, Stephanie Fisher, and her son from Sacramento to Orlando for the Magic’s season opener. It was an uncanny act of charity. Not because Fisher is poor or in need, but because she’s a Kings fan. That Magic game is the best one she’ll see all year.
3. Deadspin has excerpts from Tim Donaghy’s new book, which includes damning evidence against Steve Javie, Tommy Nunez and Jess Kersey. His claims should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt, but Donaghy’s allegations about playoff series’ involving the Suns, Kings and Nets only reinforce the idea that the refs were biased against those teams. As a Kings fan, I’m beyond disappointed.
4. The Celtics are on a short deadline to sign Rajon Rondo to an extension. Depending on the source, Boston has offered Rondo between $45 and $60 million over five years. That equates to between $9 and $11 million per season. Celtics Hub shows where that salary would rank Rondo among League point guards.
5. For his 22nd birthday, Andrew Bynum bought a Bumblebee Camaro like the one from Transformers. He was understandably upset when he found out the purchase didn’t include Megan Fox.

Rajon’s worth to the Celtics makes him worth every penny. Yes, even when he does that dumb stuff he does every so often, even when he misses those wide open shots, even when he falls asleep sometimes on D. The rest of the time he makes the Celtics go in a higher gear.
