1. The Philippine Star reports a strong possibility that Shaquille O’Neal will lead boxer Manny Pacquiao into the ring on November 14th when Pacquiao takes on Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand. Shaq, who is hilariously described as “bulging” in the article, lobbied for the job when he met with Pacquiao trainer Jay Roach earlier in the year. Pacquiao’s past escorts to the ring (yeah, I said escorts) include WWE champion “The Undertaker” and Dave Batista.
2. The Timberwolves are getting stung hard by the injury bug. First Kevin Love fractured his hand last week, now Al Jefferson is “out indefinitely” with a sore Achilles’ tendon. Well, at least Ramon Sessions and Jonny Flynn are playing well together in the backcourt. Oh, wait…
3. Good news for Warriors fans: Dime lists “The Anthonys,” Anthony Randolph and Anthony Morrow, as two of the sophomores most likely to break out this season.
4. Protect the Paint morphs James Blunt, Tom Petty, Liam Gallagher and Jackie Earle Haley into the ultimate Steve Nash lookalike. Couldn’t they have just posted a photo of J.E. Skeets?
5. Drew D of Sir Charles in Charge speculates about coaches on the hot seat this season. My top 5? Don Nelson, Mike Brown, Mike Woodson, Byron Scott and Erik Spoelstra. I won’t be surprised if all five are fired this season.

This week on Arash Markazi’s Pop Culture Hot List:
- Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union go public with their relationship
- Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian finally agree on a prenup
- Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest party at LAX (the night club, not the airport)
