1. Big surprise. Ron Artest is in the news again. This time it’s for telling a blogger to “suck a cock.” His words, not mine. Before you jump all over Artest like Matt Damon on Vinnie Chase, check out the complete story at Deadspin. This wasn’t a one-sided thing. Artest was provoked. Seriously, get the full details before commenting.
2. This Artest thing is the biggest news of the day, so whattya say we continue with more Artest-related links? Yeah, I think it’s a good idea too. It’s been a wild summer for Ron-Ron. Such a wild summer, in fact, that Travis Rodgers of the Travis Rodgers Now blog has named him “the most interesting man in the world.” No word yet on whether the Dos Equis guy will get royalty checks.
3. Anybody want to bet this Artest-themed t-shirt will be the biggest seller of the new American Apparel Lakers line?
4. This isn’t Artest-related, but bear with me. Shaquille O’Neal is being sued for $5 million worth of damages amidst allegations that he ripped the concept for his “Shaq Vs.” TV show from a fellow William Morris client. Apparently the idea was originally going to be used for a series called “Andy Roddick Beat Me With a Frying Pan.” Good thing that never went through.
5. Tim Kawakami neatly lays out the events that led to Stephen Jackson’s trade demands and Monta Ellis’ comments about Stephen Curry. Let’s just say Don Nelson is not a very popular guy in the Warriors locker room right now.

Two things:
First, I like how “suck a cock” is a search tag for this post.
Second, since when does anybody in Laker land get off trying to act as if it’s a privilege, writing from a place of dignity, to be apart of the Laker organization? Isn’t this the same franchise and fan base that glorified Kobe and Magic after their fall from public moral graces?

I’m with you on this “Lakers superiority complex” issue. Aren’t these the same fans who looted and rioted after the Lakers won the title? And now they presume to tell Artest how to behave? Yeah, way to keep it classy hypocrites.
