July 24, 2008 - Marcus Camby
Marcus Camby (Forward, Los Angeles Clippers): "It's kind of sad the way things ended up [in Denver]. I wish those guys a lot of individual success. Losing a great defender, they'll probably give up more points next year. That's something they'll have to deal with."
Translation: "The Nuggets' front office is making a big mistake. What were they thinking, getting rid of a terrific defender like me? I mean, I'm probably the greatest defensive player in the world right now, right? Playing without Marcus Camby? Good luck. I'm the s---. I could D up Shaq in his prime and not give up a single point. I'm THAT good. Who do they think they are? Getting rid of Marcus freakin' Camby. That's just dumb."
July 31, 2008 - Yao Ming
Yao Ming (Center, Houston Rockets): "Hopefully, [Ron Artest]'s not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands."Translation: "I don't want any trouble on my team. I don't want this trade to go through. So I'm going to keep provoking Ron Artest to say something stupid until Daryl Morey calls this trade off."
