                                                  Fantasy Football Week 12

November 21, 2008 - Fearing Vegas

Oh man, Vegas was a scary place last Sunday after the Steelers-Chargers game. In fear of angering of my bookie I will say no more. On to the picks!

1. Jones'n For Jones

Before missing last week's game Jaguars WR Matt Jones averaged just over 82 yards in the three previous games. He also had a touchdown in that span. Jones is owned in less than half of Yahoo! leagues. But make no mistake; if he plays Sunday against Minnesota, Jones will get you points.

Minnesota does not make wide receivers look bad. They also have three star defensive players in question for Sunday. So expect the Vikings secondary to give up big points to Jacksonville's wideouts, especially Jones. I estimate 70 yards and a red zone look for Jones this week (if he plays).

[Editor's note: As of Saturday, Jones is listed as probable for Sunday's game.]

2. Worth a Hill of Beans

The QB carousel in San Francisco seems to have come to a rest on Shaun Hill. In two games Hill has posted 430 yards and 4 TDs for a passer rating of 142.3. Hill played against a weak Rams defense last week and he goes up against another weak secondary this week: the Cowboys. Tamper your expectations of picking up QBs this late in the season. But if you need Hill, you're likely to get 200 yards and at least 1 TD out of him this week.

3. Killer Keller

New York loves their tight ends and recently the Jets' 2008 first round pick, Dustin Keller, has been looking like a great pickup.

Averaging 7 catches, 97 yards and 0.5 TDs in the last two weeks, Keller is looking good coming up against the Titans. It's not a great matchup, but weaker teams are on the Jets' schedule after this week.

Keller may only snag 50 yards this week. But pick him up for future weeks against Denver, San Francisco and Buffalo.

Ok, I think I should go back to looking for a second job. I'm kidding. Everything will be alright. As long as Pittsburgh beats the spread this week...

I've said too much already.

Good luck this weekend. Go clinch that playoff spot!
