September 6, 2008 - Kool-Aid's 10 Bold Fantasy Predictions
Well, suprise surprise, it's football season. As if you haven't been counting down the days. We know you've been slowly starting to ignore your responsibilities at work in the expectation that this glorious time of year was coming once again.
Fortunately, Fantasy Falafel is back to give you advice to help your team make the grade. We'll have more coverage beginning next week. But for now enjoy my 10 Bold Fantasy Predictions for 2008.
1. Tom Brady will not be the best fantasy quarterback of '08. Who will? Peyton, Romo, take your pick. But it's not going to be ol' "Timmy" Brady.
2. Frank Gore will be the NFC rushing leader. He'll have the most rushing yards, but won't get enough TDs to make him the highest scorer.
3. Ryan Grant will be the 20th-best running back, or lower, when it's all said and done.
4. The Minnesota Vikings' defense will allow less than 10 points per game on average throughout the season.
5. Chad Ocho Cinco (wow, I can't believe he actually changed his name to that) will be a Top 5 wideout.
6. Josh Scobee will be the third-best kicker behind Nick Folk and Robbie Gould.
7. Kellen Winslow and Antonio Gates will have the same number of fantasy points at tight end at season's end.
8. Donte Stallworth will have at least 800 yards receiving and 6 TDs in his first year with the Browns.
9. Ricky Williams will tally at least 700 yards rushing, and 7 all-purpose TDs. Oh yeah, baby. He's back.
10. Adrian Peterson, although he's a total beast, will not surpass LT as the number one running back in football. Every fantasy draft should proceed as such.
Ok, kids. That's it. Please feel free to e-mail your ridicules to fantasyfalafel@gmail.com. At the end of the season, I'll post a review to determine whether or not I get a passing grade.
